You said Heaven.
How do you know for certain? Would you like to find out?
You said Hell.
How do you know for certain? Would you like to find out?
You are unsure.
Would you like to find out for certain?
Have you always placed God as the highest priority in everything you said, did, and loved?
Have you ever blasphemed the name of God?
(By using His name to cuss, or in light conversation without honor)
Have you always perfectly obeyed your parents and brought honor to them?
Have you ever killed another person?
(By God's standard, hatred in the heart counts)
Have you committed adultery?
(Imagining someone sexually outside of marriage counts)
Have you ever stolen anything?
Have you ever lied?
So, How Did You Do?
The law of God judges you completely. Jesus said that if you look upon someone with lust you have committed adultery in your heart already (Matthew 5:28). Hatred toward your brother makes you a murderer before God. The Bible declares in 1 John 3:15: "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him."
In Revelation 21:8, God says that "all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Every lie you have ever told stands on record before a holy God.
God is righteous and He will give you justice.
He will sentence you to Hell for your sins.
But what if you do enough good to make up for it?
IT CANNOT HELP YOU.
THERE IS ONLY ONE THING THAT CAN.
2,000 years ago, God came down to earth in the flesh as Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect, sinless life so that His death would become the full payment for your sins. Romans 6:23 declares: "the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
He took your guilt upon Himself and shed His guiltless blood on the cross. He was raised from the dead three days later, victorious over sin and death. The full punishment for your sins has been paid. This is why the gift of salvation is truly free.
But not all have this gift applied to them. Jesus warned in Matthew 7:21-23 that many who say "Lord, Lord" and do works in His name will hear: "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Your prayer alone does not save you. Your works do not save you.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9
REPENT
AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL.
You must bow before God in humble contrition, recognize your sin as exceedingly sinful, and forsake it entirely. Repentance is not merely a change of opinion. It is a complete turning of your heart away from sin and toward God, trusting entirely in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:9-10
The Holy Spirit will sanctify and change you from the inside out. You will be called to walk holy (1 Thessalonians 2:12), to obey His commands (John 14:15), and to love one another (1 John 4:7).
When are you going to repent and believe?
"Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." — 2 Corinthians 6:2
Praise God!
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 6:2, "now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." And in Luke 15:10, Jesus declares that "there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." Heaven rejoices at this moment.
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."
Psalm 51:17
If you are truly ready to repent and place your trust in Jesus Christ, all you must do is talk to God. Get on your knees. Be honest with God and with yourself. Recognize that your sin is sending you to Hell, and that you need to repent and place all of your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9
Confess your sins to God alone. You have His promise that He is faithful and just to cleanse you of all unrighteousness. Do this now, and follow the commands of God.

Praise God. Now go with God.
The Bible warns in James 4:14 that "ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." In Luke 12:20, God says to the man who delayed: "Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee."
If tonight is that night for you, you will stand before God in judgment for your sins. Do not allow love of sin to condemn you to eternity in Hell, where Jesus Himself declared the fire is not quenched and the worm does not die (Mark 9:44). Hell is a place of utter torment that lasts forever. It was prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
2 Peter 3:9
God has no desire to see you perish. This is why He sent His Son to die for you. He is patient because He wants you to come to repentance. Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Do not harden your heart.
Praise God.
The Bible commands us to examine ourselves to see whether we are in the faith (2 Corinthians 13:5), and to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). Jesus Himself warned in Matthew 7:21: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
Revelation 21:8 declares that the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. Can you say with certainty that you have truly given your life to Christ, repented and turned from your sin, and placed your whole trust in God alone?
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
2 Corinthians 5:17
Does your life reflect a person who has been born again (John 3:3)? Or are you more like the man James described who says he has faith but has no works to show for it? "Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." (James 2:17)
Jesus said to strive to enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many go that way (Matthew 7:13-14). He said a good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit (Matthew 7:17-18). Which are you?
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."
1 John 2:15
And 1 John 3:15 reminds us that "whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." James 4:9-10 instructs: "Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up."
Your works are not the root of your salvation. They are the fruit of it. The evidence of a truly born-again life is one that magnifies Christ and reflects His holiness. Jesus said few there be that find the narrow way (Matthew 7:14).
Eternity is not something you can take back.
Repent and believe the Gospel.
